BLUE OPHELIA
If a man breaks his promise, then all that remains is a broken man.
While growing up in the hollers of the Kentucky Appalachians, Duncan’s dad pounded that simple rule into him. That was all well and good until Dad broke his marriage vows when he flew into a drunken rage and stabbed Mom to death. On that day, Duncan made a promise of his own: find out why Dad did what he did and avenge Mom's murder.
Twenty obsessive years later, Duncan lives in Lexington — the Horse Capital of the World — with his husband, Shelby. They’ve applied to adopt their first child together, but the adoption process has yanked ugly secrets out of Shelby’s past that connect him, the prestigious equine insurance company he works for, and a horse named Blue Ophelia to Mom’s brutal death.
Duncan’s obsession has a target, and his vengeance happens tonight.
Shelby's executive team arrives for a corporate dinner to celebrate his promotion to full partnership. When the party begins, so does Duncan’s multi-step revenge plan. But since the 1% play by their own rules, Duncan could find himself outmatched and with his biggest promise left broken.
